Chairman and Managing Director Madhusoodan D Kushe passed away after a period brief illness on Wednesday. He was 78. He is survived by his wife Sarojini Kushe.
Kushe took over the beedi empire of Puttu Vaikunta Shet, founder of PVS beedis, which was established 106 years back. When Shet passed away, Kushe a kin of Shet took over the business when he was just 21 years of age.
From then on Kushe saw that PVS products were exported to 20 countries. The mortal remains will be kept for public homage at his Kodialbail residence at 3 pm on Thursday.
