Bantwal, January 27: Two youths, who had an affair with two sisters, developed physical relationship with them, began to remain elusive after knowing that the girls had conceived. The people with police support made the youths to marry their respective partners.
The wedding of one of these sisters was performed at Nooji in the taluk on Saturday. The people were successful in catching hold of the other youth, who had been trying to remain aloof, and convinced him to marry his partner on Monday. The second marriage was held at B C Road.
One among the three daughters of Krishna Naik from Nooji village, had already been married off. Out of his other two daughters, Nalini (24) had an affair with Gopal from Kulalu near Salethur, while Rajani (20) had an affair with Ashok from Manolitota in Bolantoor.
It is gathered that the duo youths were friends and had been pretending like being in love for becoming closer physically. Both Ashok and Gopal work as coolies, and both the sisters turned pregnant.
It is learnt that, a few days ago, Rajani gave birth to a baby boy at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru. She had abandoned the newborn among bushes near Salethur. When the villagers queried her, she gave information about her relationship with Ashok. She also revealed to them that her sister, Nalini, was in relationship with Gopal.
Post this, the villagers kept a watch on the two said youths. The villagers sought the help of cops to trace the youths and marry the girls.
