Mangaluiru, March 5: Protest was staged by the Kadri residents in the city opposing irregularities in the road developmental works in Mallikatte here.
Protestors alleged that the negligent attitude of the Mangalore City corporation authorities in the road construction works here have created problems for the public’s.
Gerard Towers addressing the protestors said, the road in front of the petrol bunk in kadri has been half dug up by the MCC for concretization works. Since the past 12 days the road has been left in the same state as there was error in marking. This has caused great inconvenience to the people using this road. Narrow path here is posing danger for those who move about, he said.
School children and senior citizens face difficulty while moving in this area. Local Corporator Ashok who had visited the spot had taken this matter to the concerned authorities, but there is no response, said Gerard .
It is learnt that, post the protest a complaint was submitted to the MCC Commissioner on March 4th.
