Bantwal, March 9: It is learnt that Prabha Arun Kumar(41), who was murdered in Sydney, Australia while she was conversing over the phone with her hubby in Bengaluru, is native of Amtoor near Kalladka here.
Prabha, an IT consultant; employed with Bengaluru-based tech firm MindTree.
Prabha was attacked and stabbed to death at Amos Street in the western part of the city at about 9.30 pm on Saturday March 8th, while she was walking home after work. When she was stabbed, she was conversing over the phone with her husband Arun Kumar, who lives in Bengaluru with their 10-year-old daughter Meghana.
Prabha was the second daughter of progressive farmer Mahabala Shetty and Sarojini. Twelve years ago, she was married Arun Kumar. The news of Prabha’s sudden demise has brought severe distress to her parental house Nandagokula, in Amtoor.
Earlier, Prabha was working as engineer in Bengaluru, and moved to Australia three years ago, after she was promoted by the company. She was planning to come to India on vacation in April.
It is learnt, Prabha’s husband Arun has already left for Sydney.
It is gathered that two eyewitnesses of the incident have agreed to cooperate with the Sydney cops.
