Fifth standard- Birthday boy dies after being knocked by KSRTC bus.

Sullia, March 24: A heart rending accident is reported from Aramboor near here which occurred on Monday March 23rd, in which a birthday boy moving on a bicycle died when a KSRTC bus collided to his cycle.

The deceased has been identified as Abu Tahir (10), son of Ahmed, from Kallumutlu here. Ahmed is an auto rickshaw driver by profession.

Abu Tahir had appeared for the examination on Monday, March 23rd, the date of his Birthday. Post this, he had distributed chocolates to his classmates. Later he was moving on his bicycle to his elder sister’s residence, to give chocolate to her, who is married. Two elder sisters of Abu Tahir are married and he was moving to the house of one of them when this accident took place. Chocolates were found to have been scattered around the accident spot.

The KSRTC bus which was moving towards Mangaluru from Madikeri collided to the boy’s cycle near Arambur Forest Department Depot. As a result, Tahir’s right leg thigh got entangled under the bus, moreover, both the feet were completely crushed and his head was grievously injured.

It is learnt that Thair expired on the way while being shifted to the hospital. The autopsy was conducted in government hospital in Sullia and later handed over to the family. The KSRTC bus driver and conductor have fled from the spot.

Sullia cops have registered a case.

Abu Tahir was the only son among the four children of his parents. He was a fifth standard student of Green View School here and was a bright student. Leave was declared to his school and also at Muhiuddin Madarasa.

The KSRTC officials on hearing the news of the accident have visited Government hospital in Sullia. The school administrative members, teachers and others were also present there.

He is survived by his parents and three sisters.
