Mangaluru, April 13: The culmination programme of the year-long centenary celebrations of Rosario Cathedral was held on Sunday April 12th.
Holy Eucharist was celebrated by the main celebrant Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza on Sunday at 4.30 pm.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the programme. Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy the bishop of Belthangady and Dr Ignatius D’Souza the bishop of Bareily were special guests. Msgr Dennis Moras, Fr Denzil Lobo S J, Sr Doreen D’Souza, Sr Lydia Fernandes, Octavia Albuquerque were the Chief guests.
The guests of honour were Ministers Ramanath Rai, MLC Ivan D’Souza, MLA J R Lobo, and M P Noronha, secretary of diocese.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza released ‘‘Cathedra”, a souvenir on centenary celebrations.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza and Fr J B Crasta the parish priest was honoured on this occasion.
Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza his presidential address said, Faith came to us from this cathedral. In every way this cathedral has taken a special place in my and your hearts. Let us pass it on to the next generation as we received it us from our forefathers.
Fr J B Crasta welcomed the gathering. The event was compeered by John Lobo and Doreen Fernandes. John D’Silva proposed vote of thanks.
Cultural programmes were presented on this occasion.
