Mangaluru, April 14: Cool breeze which began to blow from during sun rise on Monday morning, April 13th relieved the citizens of Dakshina Kannada from scorching heat of summer.
Droplets of rain began to fall here and there with cloudy weather appeared across the area. Around 10.30 am it began to drizzle in Mangaluru city accompanied by thunder and lightning and the coastal city was drenched in mild showers.
As it was Monday, this unexpected rain caused inconvenience to those people who were rushing towards their work places. People who failed to carry umbrellas were seen running to find shelters.
Metereological Department said that the pre-monsoon showers will last for two days and may occur next month also, before monsoon starts. Bajpe, has recorded rainfall of 1.8 mm at 11.30 am. In Subramanya, received showers of 6.8 mm which was recorded at 8.30 am, and Mani received showers of 1.6 mm.
But the cosy cloudy weather and rain had temporarily relieved all from scorching heat of summer.
