Mangalore, June 11: It has been reported that a newly built house of a daily wage labourer, near Vidya Jyothi School, Jyothinagar, Kunjathabail has been completely damaged due to landslide and collapse of a compound wall, which occurred on June 11, Tuesday.
Mangalore, June 11: A landslide and the collapse of a compound wall damaged the newly built house of a daily wage labourer near Vidya Jyothi School, Jyothinagar, Kunjathbail on June 11, Tuesday morning.
As the house was constructed at the bottom of a small hill, the smooth soil of which gave way resulting in landslide, which in turn, to the collapse of compound wall of the house located in an elevated area and thus for the family of Narayan salian,whose newly constructed house turned into rubbles.
Though the construction works were in final phase, Salian was living in the same house along with his wife and son. However, no one was hurt, as Salian’s wife and son had rushed out on hearing the loud sound.
The village accountant as well as local corporator Kunjathbail Mohammad have visited the spot and assured help to the family which is at a loss. The corporator also said he has informed the local legislator as well as urban development minister about the damage caused to the house and that they have promised to help the distressed family.
