Mangaluru, May 4: On the third day of the 19th Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championship on Sunday May 3rd, Karnataka has won gold and silver medals in men’s high jump.
In the men’s high jump, two Karnataka champs Harshith S and Supreeth Raj won the gold and silver respectively. Supreeth shared the silver with Srineesh C (Army).
In men’s shot put, Inderjeet Singh of Haryana won the gold and was selected for the Rio Olympics, Tejinder Singh of Punjab won the silver, while the national record holder Om Prakash Singh of ONGC bagged the bronze with a distance of 18.02 m.
In men’s long jump, Ankit Sharma of Haryana bagged the gold and got qualified for the Asian Athletics. Yugant Singh of Uttar Pradesh won the silver and M Arshad of AIR won the bronze.
In the men’s hammer throw, Niraj Kumar of Navy won the gold. M Shankar of Tamil Nadu won the silver and Abhishek Yadav of Uttarakhand, won the bronze.
