Mangaluru, May 12: The district BJP is all set to face the gram panchayat elections across the district. Already 70 percent of the party supported candidates are chosen, informed DK district BJP president Prathap Simha Nayak.
Addressing a press meet in the city on May 12th, Prathap Simha Nayak said, in order to face the elections efficiently; already meetings are convened in all the gram panchayats of the district falling under 7 vidhan Sabha constituencies. The reports of these meetings are submitted in the preparatory meeting held today at the district office of the party, he said.
Candidates list will be filled before May 16th. In the co-operative associations election held this time, BJP supported candidates have won. Likewise, in the gram panchayat elections also, the BJP supported candidates will win, he said.
In each vidhan sabha constituency of the district, meetings will be convened with the party’s leaders. In these meetings party’s leaders Suresh Kumar, Ananth Kumar, and R Ashok, will be present, he informed.
The former BJP state government which had implemented various farmer friendly projects have been dropped by the present congress government. Ban on cow slaughter, Kumki land rights, Bhagyalaxmi, Suvarna Bhoomi and other farmer friendly projects have been dropped. The party will work towards implementing all these projects for the welfare of the farmers.
Along with the local problems, all the achievements of the central government will be placed before the public. The panchayat authority has been cut off. All the drawbacks of the state government will be placed before the citizens, said Pratapsimha Nayak.
MLA Cap. Ganesh Karnik, former member Monappa Bahndary, DK zilla panchayat vice president Sathish Kumpala, other leaders namely Sathish Prabhu, Sanjeeva Matanduru, Kishor Rai, Vikas Puttur and others were present in the press meet.
