Mangalore, June 15: Prajna Counseling Centre, a non- profit organization has been honored with state-level-award by the labor department in recognition of its outstanding achievements in the field of rehabilitating needy and oppressed sections of the society especially women and children who are exploited.
State labour department has selected prajna Counseling centre for award for its yeoman service in protecting and rehabilitating children who are pressed into child labour.
The award was handed over to Prof.Hilda Rayappan, founder director of the centre by labour minister P T Parameshwara Naik,in the programme,which was held on June 12 to mark the “World Day against child labour” at Jnana Jyothi auditorium in Palace Road, Bangalore.
Prajna counseling centre has been trying its best to bring needy children deprived of education to the main stream especially child labourers and rehabilitate them apart from providing counseling and rehabilitate women who are subjected to exploitation.
