Mangaluru, May 21: The twin daughters by scoring high marks in the 2nd PUC exams of this year have brought smile in the face of their mother who works as domestic help in four houses and two offices to meet the requirements of the poor family and to raise her four children.
This great mother is Beebijaan who resides in a small house at Jyothinagar in Vijayapura Colony at Kavoor here along with her husband and their four children.
Daughters of Beebijaan Afreena and Nasreena pursued their PUC education in BGS Composite PU College in Kavoor who scored 531(88.5%) and 522(87%) marks respectively in their 2nd PUC exams held this year.
When the 2nd PUC results were out on Monday May 18th, Beebijaan had been to work as usual. Meanwhile, after she received a call from the college where her daughters were studying she was overjoyed after knowing that her daughters had performed well. As there was no appropriate facility to see their results, the twin daughters came to know their results through their mother.
Beebijaan’s eldest daughter Nilofer is awaiting her MCom results. Her last son Wasim Akram has passed SSLC exams.
Beebijaan’s husband Mohammed Haneef is a labour. He is sick and has undergone surgery. Hence the responsibility of the family is on Beebijaan’s shoulder.
I wish that my children study well. So I have to leave my home at 7am itself to work as domestic help in four houses and offce. Sometimes, I am unable to cook in the morning. I feel very pity when my children go empty stomach to their college. Wishing that my children should study well and live as good citizens, I am working hard, said Beebijaan.
Basically from Mulugunda of Gadag district, Mohammed Haneef and Beebijaan, along with their four children live in Jyothinagar of Kavoor.
Beebijaan who works for six days in a week as domestic help, sells bangles along with her daughter Nasreena on Sunday near Central Market in State Bank in the city.
Afreena wishes to pursue BCom and later post graduation like her elder sister. Nasreena wishes to pursue BBM and post graduation in MBA.
Our mom has taken lot of pains to educate us. We feel pity at her. I have completed by MCom and looking for a suitable job. So that I can reduce my mom’s responsibility, said Nilofar
