It is definitely a small world of chance encounters for south Florida judge Mindy Glazer, who ran into a fellow vacationer this time when presiding over another bond hearing in court.
The South Florda judge whose emotional courtroom reunion with her middle school classmate turned burglary suspect went viral on the Internet had another amazing déjà vu encounter with defendant Alon Glenn, who was coincidentally on the same Caribbean cruise as her a few days ago.
“You had a nice cruise?” Judge Glazer asked, smiling warmly at Alon Glenn, who was present for his extradition hearing on a fraud charge from Georgia. Puzzled at first, defendant Glenn realised the coincidence and even asked her if she had also noticed him dancing at a party contest over there.
“You were dancing? I was sitting upstairs in the shade. It was a fun time, huh?” replied Judge Glazer, who later on expressed sympathy for the defendant. One thing is for sure; this Miami-Dade County judge has an uncanny knack for recognising people even in most unlikely of situations.
