Mangaluru, August 01: The activists of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) gathered in front of the Deputy Commissioners office here on Friday, July 31st demanding for ‘Equality and Justice’.
District vice-president Atavulla Jokatte presided over the event.
SDPI state chief secretary Lathif Puttur said, under the democracy, the constitution provides equal rights to all the citizens of the country. When these rights are hampered, a chance has been granted to question it in the court. But in the case of Yakoob Memon, the verdict given by the Supreme Court has made the ‘Equality and Justice’ to remain as a question under the system of law, he said.
SDPI state association member Koosappa, district chief Secretary Nawaz Ullal, district secretary Anwar Sadat Bajattur, Secretary Riyaz Farangipet, treasurer IMR Iqbal and others were present.
