One of the services the initiative provides is enabling applicants to book or re-book test appointments using self-service screens at driving institutes.
The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai, in coordination with driving institutes and centres, has launched its Rukhsati, or ‘My Licence’ initiative, which aims to enhance the efficiency of driving test services for applicants, from booking the initial test appointment to obtaining a driver’s licence.
One of the services the initiative provides is enabling applicants to book or re-book test appointments using touch screens which will help reduce waiting time.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the RTA Licensing Agency, said: “This initiative will make a substantial contribution towards meeting the needs of driving applicants. It also offers new channels for booking appointments via self-service screens deployed at driving institutes as well as via RTA’s Call Centre.”
The programme will also help students discover reasons they may have failed their test with the aid of footage retrieved from cameras fitted in test vehicles, while specialised centres will provide various other support services for them.
