Mangaluru, August 13: A complaint has been registered against a religious teacher for alleged sexual harassment on a nine-year old girl who used to attend Madrasa classes.
The accused teacher is an Ustad of a Madrassa at Darandabagilu at Pilar near Thokkottu.
The accused identified as Muhammed Madani from Sajipa in Bantwal taluk, works as a teacher in Madrassa.
Based on the complaint filed by the parents of the girl, a case against the accused has been registered under POCSO Act at Ullal police station.
As the concerned failed to take any action against the accused even after the parents of the girl complained to Madrassa Committee repeatedly, the parents have now filed a complaint with the police.
The nine-year-old girl, used to attend classes in the morning. The teacher was sexually harassing her, the parents said. The accused has gone absconding.
The Ullal police have registered a case and are searching for the accused.
