Mangaluru, August 19: A consumer in the city has found a glass piece in a Kissan mixed fruit jam bottle.
In the first week of July, Vinaya from Nagori, had purchased a jar of Kissan jam mixed fruit (700 gm) flavour from Spar Hyper Market.
Vinaya said, when the family had consumed the jam for more than a month, and when the jar was almost empty, she was shocked to see piece of glass in the jam bottle at the bottom of the jar. The glass piece was of the size of a match box, she said. The date of manufacture given on the jar was May 3, 2015.
Vinaya then contacted Hindustan Unilever- the manufacturer, by dialing on the toll-free number given on jar. A company representative asked her to preserve the jar and the glass piece, and assured that the company would contact her soon.
