Mangaluru, August 28: Condemning the incident of immoral rowdyism that took place in Attavar recently, a press meet was organized here by the Central Muslim Committee- Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, on Thursday August 27th.
Ibrahim Kodijal vice-president of the committee addressed the gathered and said, none should take law into one’s hands. We condemn this inhumane act of assault on a youth. We should live in peace and harmony. Holding peaceful protest is better, but none should get provoked. He urged the Muslim community not to get provoked or react. This incident has defamed our district. Mangaluru is a developing city and such kind of communal incidents will hinder its development, he said.
In connection to this incident, youngsters between the age group of 18- 25 years have been arrested. All parties and religious leaders should guide youngsters in the right path when they are misled.
The police department and government was successful in arresting the accused, he said.
He also added that the culprits who involved in this incident should be punished severely.
