Mangaluru, August 31: The trophy of KPL 4th edition Karbon Smart KPL-2015 was unveiled by State Minister for Sports Abhaychandra Jain in a program organized at Forum Fizza Mall in the city on Sunday, August 30th.
In the same occasion, Mangaluru United Team was announced and the attires of the sportsmen were also released.
Briejsh Patil, speaking on this occasion said, we have seen success in the KPL matches organized with the aim of providing a chance for the sportsmen from rural areas. In this match organized by the association 50 percent of the players are from the rural areas, he said.
He also informed that the Sony-6 channel has come forward for the live telecast of the match. Through the KPL we have selected new players. It has been helpful to win the Karnataka team Ranji, Irani and Vijaya Hajare trophies, he said.
Minister Abhaychandra Jain speaking on this occasion said, Mangaluru is hte city which has given lot of sportsmen. We wish to build a good Cricket Stadium here. For this 15 acres of land has been identified and clear decision will be taken on this within the next one month. Discussion on this will be done with the Deputy Commissioner on Monday, he informed.
Minister B Ramanath Rai participated in the stage program held later.
MLC Mohiuddin Bava also spoke on this occasion.
Talented young cricketers are carefully selected for United team this year. We are confident that this team will bring us the trophy this time. Similarly, we have faith that some tournaments may take place in Mangaluru, said the owner of Mangaluru United Team B M Farooq.
