Puttur, August 31: The Maharaja of Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar along with Pramoda Devi, the wife of Late Maharaja Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, visited Panchamukhi Anjeneya temple in Ishwaramangala, Puttur Taluk on Saturday, August 29th.
Rajmaata Pramoda Devi and Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar were escorted in an open Jeep grand procession from Ishwaramangala town to Hanumagiri.
After being crowned as the king, this was the first visit of the Yaduveer to Karavali along with Rajmaata Pramoda Devi. They arrived at around 11am from Mysore and reached Ishwaramangala via Kavu.
They performed pooja at Hanumagiri Temple at Ishwaramangala and later laid the foundation stone for the new building of the temple and also for Shree Kodandarama Abhisheka Mantapa.
Speaking to media, Rajmaata Pramoda Devi said, in the education field Dakshina Kannada district has attained significant improvement in the state, and has good literacy. Lauding this she said, we have observed it long back and we are happy over this. I am visiting Panchamukhi Anjaneya temple in Ishwaramangala for the first time. I feel peaceful after offering obeisance to the Lord and taking the glimpse of the Lord, said Rajmaata Pramoda Devi.
Maharaja Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar said, I am excited on this first visit. I wish to visit the place over again, he expressed.
Maharaja along with Rajmaata Pramoda Devi offered pooja to Lord Anjaneya. On this occasion, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar offered a “Gada” consisting of precious gems to the Lord. On behalf of the temple, an idol of Lord Anjaneya was presented to the King who was also honoured on this occasion.
Later, Maharaja performed the Bhumi pooja for the construction of Varaha Mantap at the shrine.
Rajmaata initiated the programmes of the daily meals at the Shrine and building extension of Valmiki Vihar- a children’s ashram.
During the stage program, Santosh G-thinker from Bengaluru presented a key note address.
Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty presided over the program.
Malleswaram(Bangaluru) MLA Dr C S Ashwath Narayan, Bramhashree Ravish Tantry, Nettanige Mudnuru gram panchayat president Shankari Bhandary, vice-president Shreerama Pakkala, Badagannur gram panchayat president Keshava Gowda, Konethota Mahabaleshwar Bhat of Dharmashree Pratistana and others were present.
Administrative member of the Shrine Nanya Achyuta Moodittaya welcomed the gathering and Shivarama proposed the vote of thanks. Advocate Mahesh Kaje compeered the program.
