Mangaluru, September 21: Raising public awareness on organ donation is not taking place. Especially in India, there is no information on organ donation. As it is possible to give life to others by organ donation, more awareness on this must take place, said Mangaluru Police Commissioner S Murugan.
He spoke after inaugurating “Jeevan Vileena”- awareness campaign on organ donation organized by A J Hospital and Research centre at City Centre Mall here.
Actress Sonal Monterio speaking on this occasion said, hundreds are waiting for accepting organs. As there are no donors, their wish is remaining unfulfilled. It is the responsibility of all of us to donate organs, she said.
A mime show on the benefits of organ donation was also showcased on this occasion.
A J Shetty – Chairman of A J Group of Institutions, Hospital Director- Dr Prashanth Maarla, Prashanth Shetty- Vice President of Laxmi Memorial College, Harshith- Manager of City Centre was present among others.
