23rd Anniversay Devadigas Dubai, UA.E. on 30th October Deira Sheraton, Al Muteena

Dubai Devadiga President Mr. Harish Sherigar announces Devadigas Dubai, UAE in association with Precious party & Entertainment to celebrate their 23rd anniversary on Friday 30th October 2015 at Deira Sheraton, Al Muteena Dubai. This family day celebration is to start from 10am to 5pm. Enthusiastic members promise to render an exciting day filled with loads of entertainment, fun and frolic followed by a sumptuous lunch.

We are very glad to have completed 23 years in the Emirates and are one of the oldest community organizations here. Formed in 1992, the main objective was to provide a platform for the active members and create an opportunity to exhibit their talent, build comradeship among the fellow folks who are far away from home & family. It was a platform to unite the community members and to share & nurture the ancient values of culture and traditional values. The aim also was to extend support to the new members who come to the UAE in search of jobs and help them during emergencies.

The Education Fund in the form of Fixed Deposit was formed for the less fortunate children, Every year under the guidance of Mangalore Sangha more than thousands of financially needy students and achievers avail the opportunity to study in their chosen fields. Each year we contribute to this fund from the donations received from members so as to help more and more students under the umbrella of this Scholarship Fund. Over the years we have distributed more than 75 lakhs Rupees in the form of scholarships, book distributions, medical help, sponsoring school and professional education to some individual children and building houses for the needy. This process is on and year after year we are more than happy to continue this drive with this unique program.

Over the years we have felicitated our community members from back home who have excelled in various fields – EX Union Minister Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Saxophonist Moodbidri Gopalakrishna Devadiga, Neuro Surgeon Dr. K.V. Devadiga, Director of SDM College Dr. Devaraj K, Former Vice Chancellor of Kuvempu University Prof. B.S. Sherigara, to name a few. Mrs. & Mr. Harischandra Devadiga & Mrs. & Mr. Anand Devadiga were chosen from here to be felicitated being Founder members/Advisors for their service to the community.

We organize annual events, conduct blood donations, cookery competitions, participate in sports events and organize picnics where in all the members & new members assemble and share their time & celebrate the occasion.

23rd Anniversary:

Padmashri Dr. B. R. Shetty : Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, better known as B R Shetty, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi based New Medical Centre Group of Companies and UAE Exchange. The company when established in 1975 was initially interested in hospitals and hospitality, but since then has diversified into sectors including pharmaceuticals, global financial services, retail, advertising and Information technology. Being a public figure he would be our Guest of Honour and we are more than happy to felicitate him during our function.

Mrs. Padmavally Sanjay one our founder members has been chosen this year to be felicitated during the grand event for her community services and social activities in Dubai.

Sindhu Bhairavi & Machendranath Mangaladevi

Talent determines what you can do. Motivation determines how much you are willing to do. Attitude determines how well you do. With sheer passion combined with talent, motivation and attitude, Ms. Sindhu Bhairavi has created a name for herself in the field of music. She is renowned for being the youngest female Saxophonist with a Karnataka state award among a host of other top awards in India. The talented musician from Mangalore has already enthralled large audiences at several venues with the skill of her magical fingers on the saxophone.

Rajyotsava Awardee Ms. Sindhu Bhairavi has performed more than 2000 shows all over the country and abroad. She has got a list of awards to her credit, currently residing in the UA.E. She will be accompanied by her father Machendranath Mangaladevi who will be accompanying her from India.

Honoured by Rajyotsava Award, Machendranath Mangaladevi is a native of Puthur, Dakshina Kannada and is currently working as a temple saxophonist at South India’s one of the most historical temple Shree Mangaladevi Temple. He has won wide applause for his programs in and outside the country. He has trained prodigies like his daughter Sindhu Bhairavi who became the youngest saxophonist from South India and his son is also a saxophonist.

Distinguished Guests are Dr. Bhaskar Shetty a dynamic surgeon and director of City hospital Mangalore, Mr. Sudheer Shetty – CEO U.A.E Exchange, Mr. Pravin Shetty – Chairman Fortune Group of Hotels, Mr.Sathish Venkataramana – CEO Chilly Willy & President of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha, Shri Annaya Sherigar – Trustee Eknatheshwari Temple Barkur, Mr. H.Mohandas – Ex President of Devadiga Sangha Mumbai, and various dignitaries from other associations will also be gracing the event.

Entertainment :
The day is to showcase Devadiga fashion show, mesmerizing dances by Devadiga’s and comedy skits by “Balle Telipalle” Runners up of Dubai episode 2014 and Devadigas team.

Melodious medleys by Harish Sherigar& team will be enthralling supported ably by Vijaya Bhat, Akshata Rao and Suresh Devadiga.

A lot of attractive prizes are to be won through raffle draws. A newly proposed scholarship drive will be initiated as announced earlier. We acknowledge and appreciate the help and support by all our well-wishers and members.
