Kundapur, October 22: A college student has committed suicide at her house in Karki near Hattiangady in the taluk.
The deceased is identified as Preeti (17) daughter of late Ramesh. She was a first PUC (arts combination) student of Kundapur Government College.
Parents of Preeti had expired some time ago. Later she was living with her brothers. Preeti’s brother Mitin had questioned her after he noticed her conversing with someone over her cell phone. At that time she had convinced her brother giving some answers. But since some time Preeti was seen conversing frequently with someone through her mobile phone and was also depressed. On noticing this, Mitin grew suspicious and had advised Preeti and had taken her mobile phone. Although she had asked him to return her mobile he went to a shop close by and on returning home he noticed that she has committed suicide by hanging herself.
The exact reason for taking this extreme step is not yet known. No death note was found on the spot.
Currently, the police have taken mobile phone of Preeti for further investigation.
Autopsy was conducted at Kundapur Government hospital.
A case has been registered at Kundapur police station.
