Mangaluru, October 27: Following the death of a pregnant woman and her unborn child in a hospital in Vittal on Monday night, October 26th, her family members alleged that the hospital and doctor’s negligence was the cause for her sudden death.
The deceased woman is Girija (26), wife of Ramesh (30).
It is gathered that on Monday morning, Girija was admitted to the government hospital in Vittal for delivery of her second child. As she did not deliver even by night, the nurses asked her to walk around to stimulate labour pain. Later, just before 9 pm, she was taken to labour ward for delivery. After 15 minutes, she was declared dead and unborn kid also died, it is gathered.
The family sources said that the cause for Girija’s sudden death was not specified by her doctor or the hospital. They said that Girija was healthy and even when she was in delivery room the doctors and nurses did not say about any problem with her health. They alleged that negligence of the doctor had caused Girija’s death.
On Tuesday October 27th, Girija’s body was brought for autopsy at Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru.
