Holidays begin from Tuesday December 1 for ministries and federal authorities

The UAE Ministry of Labour has tweeted that December 2 and December 3 will be holidays for the private sector on the ocassion of Martyrs’ Day and National Day.

This makes for a four-day holiday break for the private sector, including the weekend.

Holidays begin from Tuesday, December 1 for ministries and federal authorities

The National Day and Martyrs’ Day holidays for employees of ministries and federal government departments will begin on Tuesday December 1, with work resuming on Sunday December 6, according to a circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

On the occasions, the authority extended its greetings to the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates, and the people of the UAE.

All ministries and federal authorities will be closed for Martyrs’ Day on December 1, 2015.

The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan had ordered November 30 to be observed as Martyr’s Day. The holiday for this day will be on December 1.

Schools closed

Dubai schools to be closed for five days to mark UAE Martyrs’ Day and National Day.

A tweet from the official handle of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) read, “To honour UAE National Day and Martyrs’ Day, schools will be closed from Tuesday December 1 to Thursday December 3.”
