Five arrested: Six two wheelers, 12 grams gold, 34 mobile seized / Goonda act- Deralakatte rape case accused Safwan sent to Ballary jail.

Mangaluru, December 9: The Pandeshwar police in a vital operation have arrested five persons in connection to various cases, informed Mangaluru City Police Commissioner S Murugan.

He informed this in a press meet held in his office on Tuesday, December 8th and said, the arrested accused are Haris alias Chandru (24), Mohammed Shabir (24), Altaf (24), Ummer Farooq (20), and Mohammed Rafiq (29); all residents of Kasaba Bengre. Six two wheelers, 12 grams of gold, 34 mobile including valuables worth Rs 5 lakhs have been seized from the possession of the accused, he said.

Among the accused, Haris alias Chandru has involved in criminal acts from his minor age. The other accused are involved in different cases, he said and added that with the arrest of these five persons the police have cracked 13 cases, informed the commissioner.

Goonda act against Safwan-an accused in Deralakatte rape case:

Safwan (31), the accused in murder, theft, violence, rape, attempt to rape, dacioty and many other cases who is presently lodged in prison and who is also the prime accused in the Deralakatte rape case, has been booked under goonda act and has been sent to Ballary jail. From 2005 to 2015, 20 cases have been registered against him, informed the commissioner.
