Beautiful Mini-Vidhan Soudha in the city faces many problems inside.

Mangaluru, December 18: The Mini-Vidhan Soudha that was recently opened and few offices have begun functioning in the building. But due to various problems faced in the building; it has attracted the fury of publics in general.

After nine long years of construction works, finally the Mini-Vidhan Soudha building was recently inaugurated and even after one month after the inauguration, all the offices have not shifted completely to this building. In this three storeyed building, Taluk office in the bottom floor, in the second floor Sub-Registrar office, survey office, election office and the third floor is kept reserved for housing Revenue office.

A portion of the taluk office from the old location has been shifted to this new building. The publics are facing great inconvenience as various documents from the taluk office have not been yet completely shifted to this new building. Seating facility are not been made for the public’s who visit the Mini Vidhan Soudha for various works. Moreover, as the space is insufficient in the floor where the taluk office is housed, the staffs in the office have to carry on their works in a congested space.

In the second floor, space is reserved for Sub-Registrar office, survey office, and election office. The election office is functioning in this floor. But the old documents are yet to be shifted from its old office. A portion of the Survey office has been shifted to this building and there is a shortage of adequate space to keep the documents related to the office. 150 square feet place is provided for this office where 30 staffs work.

The office of Sub-Registrar has not been shifted here from the old building. The publics are expressing dissatisfaction and opposition over the shifting of the office to the new building. The main reason for this is lack of adequate space. Even here seating arrangements facilities have not been made for the public’s.

Third floor is reserved for functioning of the Revenue office and the office is partly functioning here. The office will be completely shifted within three-four days. The Assistant Commissioners office and the Treasury office has not been yet shifted to this building. Even here seating arrangements facilities have not been made for the public’s.

No lifts and generators:

Although the construction works of Mini-Vidhan Soudha building was completed few months ago, the inauguration was delayed as the lift and generator facility was not provided to this building. The minimum requirements to install lifts in future have not been made here, which has saddened the general public’s.

As the people especially the senior citizens and the physically challenged persons have to inevitably walk up stairs to visit the Sub registrar office and the Revenue office which is functioning on the second and third floors respectively for any work related to their land; it is really pitiable that the concerned have not taken minimum interest on this fact while constructing the building.

As the generator facility is not yet provided to this building; during the hours of power cut, the officials have to suspend their works until the current arrives.
