Mangalore, July 15: A function was arranged to select new committee members of Rotary club, Mangalore central for the year 2013-2014 at city’s Moti Mahal auditorium on July 14, Sunday.
Hotelier Rajgopal Rai has been unanimously selected as the new president of the club.
Sadananda Shetty, President, Shree Devi Education trust has presided over the function.
Addressing the gathering, he said in his presidential speech that rotary club is the only one organization, where no politics is involved and all are deeply engaged themselves in serving the society by wiping the tears from poor people, he said.
He further added that now club has chosen a right, dynamic and able person Rajgopal Rai as the new president. Shetty has further added that Rai has always been involved in all sorts of social services and recognized by the mass and during the tenure of Rai, as the president of the club, let us all hope for many more noticeable social services, achievements and blessed the club and committee members for all round success of the club.
Dr Devdas Rai, Rotary governor has been felicitated and honored for his outstanding and remarkable contribution towards the club on the occasion.
Nalin Kumar Kateel,MP,Monappa Bhandary,Vidhana Parishad member,Ramesh,former MUDA president,Shashidhar Hegde,former MCC mayor,Shreekar Prabhu,BJP President and among others were present.
Dr K G Aravind Bhat,asst.governor zone-5,Suryaprakash Bhat,former governor,Rohitnath,former asst.governor,outgoing president Ro/ Dr Sureshchandra Shetty,Ro/Anil Gonsalvez,secretary,Ro/Santhosh Shet,new secretary,Ro/Bhaskar Amtoor and among others were also present.
