Legislative Council election: Counting process begins.

Mangaluru, December 30: The counting process of the election that were held on Sunday for the State Legislative Council began at 8 a.m today at Victoria Girls composite Pre-University college in Lady hill. The results are expected to be announced by evening.

The total number of voters is 6,560. Among them 3,176 men and 3,358 women, a total of 6,534 members have voted.

Wide security in the wake of counting:

Tight security has been provided at the Victoria High School in Ladyhill and the surroundings. Along with the civil police 10 contingents of KSRP staffs have been deployed. Appropriate arrangements have been made for free traffic movement. The counting procedure has begun at 8am today. The district administration has taken all measures to announce the complete results by 6pm today.

Carrying mobile phone, weapons or other electronic equipments inside the counting centre is prohibited. The vote counting procedure will be completely video recorded.

Live telecast:

In Namma Kudla, and V4 cable channel, the counting procedure of the votes for Legislative Council will be telecasted.

Parking Facility:

Excluding the vehicles of officials, other vehicles are not permitted to enter into the counting centre. For vehicle parking of candidates/agents and the public’s; vehicle parking arrangements are made at the Karavali Utsav Maidan near Mangala Kreedangana, by the roadside in Mannagudda and Hindi prachar sabha.

Counting phase by phase:

The Ballot boxes were brought out to the counting centre from the security room where they were stored, in the presence of representatives of the contestants. All the ballot papers will be made into a bundle of 25 each and then they will be put in a drum. All the bundles will be mixed in the drum and will be sent to the 14 counting tables.

This procedure will get completed by 11am and the counting procedure will resume after a short break.
