Collision between lorries- Father expired on spot, son critically injured.

Kasargod, January 01: In an accident between two lorries at Karandakkad here, a man expired on spot and his son was critically injured. The accident that occurred at around 1.30 am before sunrise on January 1st.

The deceased is identified as Prabhakar (60), a resident of Mallapuram. His son Sujesh (32), was critically injured. Both father and son were working at a jewellery store in Uppala.

It is said, the father and son had planned to travel to their native place by taking a train from Kasargod. So, on the night of Thursday December 31st, they boarded into a goods lorry that was plying from Uppala to Kasargod. The lorry stopped at Karandakkad.  While Prabhakar and his son were getting out of the goods lorry; another speeding lorry collided to the goods lorry from behind. As an impact Prabhakar was thrown on to the road and expired on the spot. Sujesh was critically injured and has been admitted to  a hospital.

Due to the accident, the boxes of beer bottles that were stacked in the lorry rolled on to the road.

Soon after the accident, drivers of both the lorries fled from the spot.

Kasargod town police have registered a case.
