Gas tanker driver’s and conductor’s strike continues: Gas supply effected across south India.

Mangaluru, January 02: The MRPL and HPCL gas transportation tanker driver’s and conductors are protesting from four days at Suratkal. Culprits should be arrested who were responsible for the death of tanker driver Saravanan while on duty on the highway in Andra Pradesh and security must be provided to the drivers, demanded the protesters.

The DyFI and CITU have expressed their support to the protest staged by drivers. The protesters have demanded that Rs Ten lakhs compensation has to be given to the family of the deceased driver.

About four thousand tankers transport gas from MRPL to various places in South India. But, as the tanker drivers have staged protest suddenly the gas supply has been affected across south India.

The employees of about, 4,000 tankers that have come to MRPL to load gas have parked the tankers here and took to protest.
