Mangalore, Jul 25: According to source, in the Pandeshwar police woman sexual harassment allegation case against ACP Jagannath, which was handed over to Government Women worker’s harassment control committee, the Committes has ruled that the charges against him could not be proved
On May 23, ASI Shreekala had alleged that ACP Jagannath had mentally and sexually harassed her and also abused her with derogatory words. The issue had created tension environment in various quarters and voices were raised for he ACP’s suspension. However, he was only sent on leave but not transferred or suspended.
Based on ASI Shrikala’s complaint, department had formed special committee to probe the matter and it met 14 times for investigation, but according the report allegation has not been proved, said Mangalore Police Commissioner Maneesh Karbheekar.
The Supreme Court had ordered that if senior officers commit such harassment, then it would consider as special case and such cases will dealt with special committee and special guidelines were also implemented to tackle such problem. Under this guide line Mangalore Police Commissioner Maneesh Karbheekar formed the committee.
The special thing is, on the day of implementation of such committee, a case had been filed against her in the Mangalore rural station and that alleged that ACP Jagannath is cause for that case.

Meanwhile ASI Sreekala said to media that the investigated report was not shown to her and being a complainer she should see the report first, but she has not received any kind of report yet. Only when official report comes, then only she will response further, she said.
