USA: The second season event of AATA BEE International youth Quiz for year 2024 was held during the last two weeks of December. Tuluva kids from more than 80 schools from the United States and Canada participated in this online event with great enthusiasm. The quiz contest was held at three levels, High School, Middle School and Elementary School. It was a real test for critical thinking on Science, Mathematics, History, Sports, General Knowledge and more.
All America Tulu Association (AATA) was established with the vision of bringing the people of Tulunad origin residing in the United States and Canada together under one umbrella. AATA BEE International Youth Quiz is designed to bring the Tuluva kids together.
Mrs. Shreevallli Rai Martell, the president of AATA, inaugurated the event. In her inaugural address she mentioned that AATA is creating history by organizing this International Quiz contest as a part of the Youth Enrichment Program and Student Scholarship Award. It is a great platform for the students to show their knowledge and improve at an international level. She encouraged the students to remember that the goal is to participate in the event and you are all winners today for your interest and determination. She extended the sincere thanks to all the kids for participating and their parents for encouraging the kids.
Akhila Americoda Tuluvere Angana (AATA) in tulu had announced attractive cash prizes of $1000, $500, $250 along with trophies and certificates for the winner of the High School, Middle School and Elementary School respectively. In addition to the International Championships, there will be top 10 international rank holders in each level.
Raghav Shetty of Flower Mound High School, Flower Mound, Texas USA is the winner and rightfully claimed the trophy and cash award of $1000 under high school level. Riaan Shetty and Claire Dsouza of Silicon Valley International School, Menlo Park, California USA and Panther Creek High School Morrisville, North Carolina, USA are second and third rank holders. Nikheel Sherigar, Aniketh Sherigar, Aadhya Anand, Neeshma Shetty, Arvil Mathias, Tanish Shetty, Samyak Acharya and Sahasi Udupa are the remaining of the top ten rank holders in that order.
Middle school category had high participation and tough competition. Hridhaan Gautham from Grafton Middle School, Grafton, Massachusetts USA won the trophy and the cash prize. Arnav Shetty of Carnage Magnet Middle School, Carry, North Carolina USA and Atman Koorse of Mills Park Middle School, Apex, North Carolina USA are the second and third rank holders. Nathan D’souza, Anjana Upadhya, Krithik Puttur, Pradyumna Bhat, Daelyn Rego, Hridhaan Shetty, Samvith Shanbhag are among the top ten rank holders under middle school Category in that order.
Akshaj Chidananda of Hopewell Elementary School, Bettendorf, Iowa USA is the winner of the quiz in Elementary School Category. Heeral Moolya of Chester M. Stephens Elementary School, Budd Lake, New Jersey USA and Anarghya Abhiram of Posts Corners Public School, Oakville, California USA are second and third rank holders. Aadhi Bangera, Rishaan Shetty, Nirvi Shetty, Kavin Acharya, Ishan Shetty, Inika Acharya, Ansika Sherigar are among the top ten rank holders in the elementary school category. The Elementary School Level quiz had tough competition and the winner was selected after a tiebreaker round.
It was a difficult job to set up a reliable, foolproof, secure and easy to use online platform to use for an international quiz competition with the right mix of brain tickling questions. Quizmasters Dr. Roshan Pais – AATA Director from Kentucky USA, Mrs. Sindhu Kulal – an energetic AATA member from Toronto Canada, AATA’s dynamic joint secretary Mrs. Ranjani Asaigoli from North Carolina USA and AATA Director & zestful lead of the Youth Enrichment Focus Group Dr. Rathanakar Sherigar from Virginia USA, made it so easy to use for even an elementary school kid. AATA compliance team lead Santosh Shetty from Atlanta USA – Treasurer of AATA, Prasanna Lakshman – Director from Massachusetts USA monitored the entire competition seamlessly.
AATA founder president Bhaskar Sherigar from Boston USA, vice president Shirish Shetty from Atlanta USA, vice president Sudarshan Shetty from Toronto Canada, Joint treasurer Sudeep Hebbar from Atlanta, chairperson of board of directors Dr. Mohana Chandra KP of California, all the Directors, Ambassadors and Advisors provided the necessary guidance and support.
AATA is a non-profit organization and intends to conduct the AATA BEE International Quiz contest every year in December.
