Bantwal, Nov.9: A new house has been constructed for the family of Sowmya, a young girl hailing from Korya in Baltila village who was brutally murdered some time back. The house has been constructed with the help of generous contributions from BJP leaders. The keys of the newly constructed house were handed over to the family of Sowmya by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on November 8, Friday.
Sowmya, daughter of Seetaram Purusha was waylaid while she was on way home after attending a job interview, by one Satish who killed her and dumped her body in a lake after she resisted his advances towards her.
The BJP leaders had contributed Rs 2 lakh towards the house construction. MP Nalin Kumar as a personal contribution has gifted Rs 10,000 while the Guruji SHG had donated Rs 35000 towards construction of lavatory and bathroom, The electrification works of the house was funded by the Sangh Parivar.
Already, the Sri Rama Vidya Kendra has deposited Rs 25000 each in the name of the three siblings of Sowmya and also her mother. Moreover, the Sri Rama Vidya Kendra has also adopted two siblings of Sowmya and would bear their educational expenses.
BJP leader Ulippadiguttu Rajesh Naik, Bantwal BJP Committee President G Anand, General Secretary Ramdas Bantwal, ZP members Chennappa Kotian, Satish Kumpala and others were present when the keys of the house were handed over to Sowmya family.
