Kundapur; Nov 13: A two days training workshop on emergency control of accidents was inaugurated by N.Ramaiah, chief engineer (vi) Varahi at Hosangady KPC energy clubs auditorium.
While speaking, he said that in case of large-scale accidents and natural calamities, all the employees of an organization must know how to tackle the situation. He said that by taking complete advantage of two days training workshop, if any emergency occurs, in order to bring it under control, one has to be every ready at any time of the day, he said
K.Kamalaksha, chief engineer has explained about the measures taken in safety related Varahi project. Dr Vijayalaxmi Nayak, medical officer, H.R.Ramesh and H.Mohan, working committee officials were present on the occasion.
In the training camp,B.A.Mendose and S.R.Gopal, convener of national safety council action centre ,Bhadravati gave a lecture on the occasion and said that safety and emergency control training should be given to all the authorities and labors in an organization, which is very important, he said.
Citing an example of gas tragedy in Bhopal in the year 1984, wherein 3500 people have died and around three lac people were succumb to deadly diseases. The reason for this was, none of the employee working in the factory had a proper training. In spite of providing six levels of safety and emergency control measures, they were unable to use it properly due to lack of proper training, he explained
In this training camp, a comprehensive training was given to the employees about the safety and emergency controlling measures.a mock drill was performed on fire accident by creating artificial fire. In this mock drill training, different teams were formed to control and combat emergencies.
In this, mainly combat, rescue and evacuation team, medical team, security teams were formed and taught how to bring the emergency under control, how to save the injured and providing emergency first aid and protect and safeguarding the law and the system in the mock drill performed.
In the inauguration ceremony, H.R.Ramesh, Kania (v) welcomed and Jaganmohan AEE proposed vote of thanks.
