Udupi; Nov 15: A ‘rally for peace’ was organized by Yuva Vidhyarthi Sanchalana Udupi on Nov 15, Saturday as a part of valedictory function of year of trust.
After inaugurating the rally, Dharmadhyaksha Dr.Gerald Issac Lobo, Udupi Christian dharmapranthya aiming at youth said that “a special gift that God has given to human community is boon of Peace.
Today in the country, peace and comfort is needed. Therefore youths should proclaim the God’s message of Peace everywhere. As per the directive of Pope, last one year was observed as year of trust by the Christian community and wished let, in everybody’s house, family, society and country, reside God’s peace of trust.
Rally, which started from Udupi Shokamata church passed through Diana circle, Big Bazar, Kinnimulky and ended at Kanarpady St.Mary’s school. Around more than 700 youths from five different Dharmapranthya zone, participated in the rally.
After the rally, rural folk games were conducted for youths at Kanarpady School’s play ground. In the rural games event Lagori, Kutti Dhonne, Jibli, Kabaddi, chennemane, Hagga Jaggata, soppata, palleyata and pilchard etc have been organized.
Udupi Dharmapranthya’s Vicar general Rev.Baptist Menezes,Mari Joseph, director of Karnataka state Yuva commission, Fred Mascarehnaz,Dharmaguru,Udupi church,Wilson,Assistant dharmaguru,Bonifas D’Souza,vice president of church protective Mandali,Franky Fernandez, school’s headmistress Martl Louis, Denis DesaYCF dharmapranthyada president Elson D’Souza and others were present.
Secretary Shyni Castelino welcomed the audience, Lesley Aroza proposed vote of thanks.
