Karkala; Nov 17: Participating in the “Sahakara Sapthaha” programme held under the auspices of Varanga Sahakari Vyavasahika Sangha on Nov 17, Sunday in Varanga Rama Mandira, Kishan Hegde, president of zilla co-operative union and director of state government Mahamandala said in his address that principle of co-operation ‘if you are there for me, I will be there for you’ is truly apt to suits in villages.
Here co-operative seva societies by being strong enough will co-operate for farmers, labors. Co-operative societies should be recognized as non-political entity. Co-operatives field should only be hobby, should not be a profession. By reaching the place, where government couldn’t touch, success of prosperity, progress has been observing in rural agriculture economic sector.
In this context government has to extend helping hand to co-operative sectors. Though under the guidance of Sahakari Ratna Rajendra Kumar apart from agricultural activities, in other fields also actively engaged in a disciplined manner and systematically with regard to farmer’s protection, fostering, motivation, co-operative sector has to implement many more programmes, he opined
In the programme, Neere Krishna Shetty, director district milk Vokkoota explained the importance about the co-ordination, reconciliation between panchayatraj and co-operative institutions and food security.
He added that due to decentralization, if panchayatraj becomes different parts of the body.co-operative sector has become nerves and veins. In case of any discrepancy, variation, difference observed in the distribution of government facilities, local bodies like panchayat, taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat has got the right to question about it.
After inaugurating the programme M.Manjunatha Poojary, member of zilla panchayat said in his address that after fixing reasonable price for the agricultural products, when the food security is preserved, then that will help in fulfilling the principle of co-operative sectors.
