New turn to Beltangady accident case: It was an accident, not murder, says complainant

Beltangady, Nov 24: On November 20, A 23-year-old youth Dinesh Gowda was killed after his bike rammed into Bolero car near Nekkilu it was resulted in the arrest of a man on charges of murder.

Now the incident took new turn the complaint now says it was an accident not murder.

When the accident, hundreds of people gathered at the spot and protested, and even damaged the Bolero. Balakrishna Poojary, a supervisor in the Dharmasthala agricultural department, who was driving the car, had escaped from the spot.

Later in the evening, Dinesh’s uncle Siddappa Gowda had filed a complaint in Beltangady police station that it was a ‘planned’ murder. and the police arrested Balakrishna on charges of rash driving and murder.

However, when Siddappa and Dinesh’s father Babi Gowda were produced in the court the next day, they said that their complaint was improper. They said it was not a murder and was purely an accident. They also pleaded with the judge to allow them to withdraw the complaint. The judge reserved the order and said that he would examine the case.

Balakrishna Poojary was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
