Udupi: ‘Shree Vidhyamanya Prashasthi-2013’ conferred on artist Gode; Yakshagana, the reflection of Kannada language-Gode

Udupi; Dec 08: After receiving “Shree Vidhyamanya Prashasthi-2013” in a ceremony organized jointly by Shree Palimaru Hrishikesha Mutt and Udupi Yaksha Ranga in Udupi Shree Vidhyamanya Mandir, famous, renowned artist and Rajyotsava award winner Gode Narayana Hegade opined that the Yakshagana is the beautiful art to offer entertainment in easy style in coastal Karnataka.

He also said that in 6 decades of his professional career he has the satisfaction of enacting each character-rituparna, Kaurava, Brahma, Salva in his own unique style successfully. That is why I am being recognized not for my achievement but for my efforts, he said

Shree Vidhyadeesha Theertha of Palimaru Mutt, who blessed and Paryaya Shree Sodhe Vadiraja Mutt’s Shree Vishwavallabha, who presided over the function have felicitated and honored artist Gode Narayana Hegade.

Legislator Pramodh Madhwaraj,Ambalpady temple’s trustee Dr.ni.B.Vijaya Ballal,Talluru Shivarama Shetty,president,Udupi Yakshagana Kalaranga,Neelavara Mahishamardhini temple’s trustee Bykady Suprasad Shetty,Yakshagana assessor and MITs professor S.V.Udaya Kumar Shetty have participated as chief guests.

Vidhwan Datta Murthy, Shimoga professor delivered a congratulatory speech.Pattabhirama Acharya, president of Yaksharanga place welcomed the guests. Thereafter “Shree Hari Bhakta Sudhanva”directed by Keremane Shivananda Hegade was staged by Idagunji Yakshagana Mandali, Keremane.
