Kundapur; Dec 11: An incident of two students, who fell from moving private bus, has been reported from Koni on Dec 10, Tuesday evening.
According to the sources, when a private bus, which was moving towards Siddapur from Kundapur via Basruru road with densely filled passengers, took a turn in sharp curve road near Koni, one of the two students who were standing at the door hit the electric pole and fell down. The other student who tried to prevent him from falling also fell down by losing his balance, control.Both of them seriously injured and were admitted to hospital.
The students, who injured were identified as Pradeep Puthran, aged 17, a resident of Koni and a resident of Japthi Nagendra Udupa, aged 16 and both were the students of renowned, famous college in Kundapur.
What had happened?:
It was the time around 4.00 pm to leave college. A private bus which was heading towards Siddapur from Kundapur, was reaching near Koni.According to the reliable source students were dangling at the door of the private bus which was densely filled with passengers.
At one point of sharp curve of the road, one student hit the electric pole and fell down and other student who tried to prevent him from falling also fell down in the process. Impact of the fall was such that both the students sustained serious injuries. Fellow passengers of the bus immediately stopped the bus and rushed injured students to Kundapur private hospital. But irony of the incident was that both driver and conductor of the bus fled the scene.
Annoyed Public:
In the backdrop of an incident local residents expressed their indignation and students expressed their displeasure and ire on traffic police and concerned authorities. According to one of the local citizens, daily morning and evening at the time of leaving college as the buses are already filled with passengers, students who are standing at the door of the bus will not only create a nuisance to other passengers but also a more chances of falling from the bus by losing their balance, control.Even if the bus is empty, some people standing at the door just for show, will invite danger on their body, as locals alleged.
Let the police apply bridle:-
It has been hearing from the public that as the buses are densely filled with passengers in the morning and evening, the people standing at the door will invite not only danger to them but also creating a nuisance to other co-passengers. Therefore it is high time for the traffic police to take the issue very seriously and take some stringent measure to escape from this type of daily harassment and apply bridle. This is the need of the hour at this moment, it says.
