Mangalore, Dec 14: The two day art expo -Kudla Kala Mela organised by the Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi with the co-operation of Department of Kannada and Culture and the Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy, inaugurated near Kadri Park in Mangalore on December 14, Saturday.
Mangalore city Corporation Commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde inaugurated the expo.
In his address, Ajith Kumar Hegde said such exhibitions go a long way in encouraging youngsters in the field of art. He said art works provide solace to stressed minds and appreciated the organisers for the great event.
Over 10,000 works of art of over 180 artistes are on display in 137 stalls on either sides of the Kadri Park Road.
Local corporator Roopa D Bangera inaugurated the art stalls at the venue. Harikrishna Punaroor, former Kannada Sahitya Parishat President presided over the function.
CH Krishnaiah Shetty, former president of Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy, Vishnu Shiva Guru, President of Karavali Kala Chavadi K Sudhindra, Registrar of Lalitha Kala Academy, and Koti Prasad Alva, Honorary Advisor of Lalitha Kala Academy were present.
