Hospet/Bangalore, December 17, 2013, DHNS: The Hampi Kannada University will confer ‘Nadoja’ awards for this year on former Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde, writer Ko Chennabasappa and Isro Sattellite Centre, Bangalore, director S K Shivakumar.
The awards will be presented during the convocation to be held on December 21, said Vice Chancellor Dr Hi Chi Boraliangaiah, at a press conference here on Tuesday.
Governor H R Bhardwaj, who is also Chancellor of the University, and Minister for Higher Education R V Deshpande will take part in the event, he added.
Pampa award
Kannada linguist D N Shankara Bhat, a resident of Shimoga, has been selected for the Pampa award of the State government for the year 2012.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation. It will be given away on the occasion of ‘Kadambotsava’ to be organised by the Kannada and Culture department in January in Bangalore, according to Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree.
