Kundapur; Dec 23: Renowned music director Gurukiran by flying the kite inaugurated the kite fest-2013, kite fly competition, display and sand sculptor competition organized jointly by Gurukula public school and P.U.College, Vakwady on Dec 22, Sunday in Koteshwara beach.
After inaugurating the event he said in his address that kite flying is not only a festival to eyes but also it is a symbol of peace. Kite also teaches a moral lesson that a man, whatever the height he goes, he should always looks like a small man. Of late, people lost the opportunity of enjoying in joint families. Now through programmes like this, not only to celebrate the enjoyment but also mingle with others in the name of festivals, he said.
Besides, he also said that he had written one song in the past about kite for one picture and shared his happiness with the people gathered for attending this beautiful programme from the bottom of his heart.
On the occasion, for the sake of fans, he sang a song “Kolle Nannanne”from the movie ‘Aramane’and entertained them.

Students from taluk’s primary, high school and colleges (both boys and girls) have participated in the kite flying competition and in the display programme, internationally registered renowned amateur team “Team Mangalore’ displayed kites and attracted the minds of onlookers.
Kathakali, Yakshagana model, eagle, bat, butterfly, niche lighting (Goodudeepa), mickey-mouse, Ganapati and flying of colorful kites in the sky lured the minds of thousands of people gathered over there. Thousands of people arrived to witness the Kundapur’s rare and second kite-fest and thoroughly enjoyed.
