Karkala;Jan 01 : In commemoration of late Yathish Shetty,Dondarangady’s fourth death anniversary, a massive blood donation and free eye check -up camp was organized jointly by Raktanidhi Kendra,Udupi,primary health centre,Dondarangady,Yathish Shetty Fan club Dondarangady,Yashashwi Friends club,Donderangady,Moorthedarara Co-operative bank,Hirgana,Lions club,Muniyal was held in Donderangady Kukkuje primary school on Dec 31,Tuesday.
The camp was inaugurated by Shankara Shetty, maternal uncle of late Yathish Shetty by lighting the traditional lamp.Ashok Kumar, president of lion’s club has presided over the function.
Dr.Veena from Udupi Raktanidhi Kendra,Panchayat president Shashikala,Ramesh Rao,president of Yathish Shetty fan club,Sundara Poojary,president,Hirga Moorthedarara co-operative bank,Akhilesh Shetty, president of Yashashwi Friends club,Mahabala Naik, school headmaster,SDMC president Aravind Hegde were present.
Ramesh Rao, delivered an introductory speech.Gopinath Bhat after welcoming the gathering, proposed a vote of thanks.
60 units of blood collected in the camp were given to Udupi district hospital. Around 90 people’s free eye check-up was conducted. Staffs of Donderangady primary health centre and Udupi district hospital have assisted in organizing the camp.
