Puttur, April 14, 2013, DHNS:

A newly married youth was killed in an accident, at Gadapila Kaipala in Kaniyoor road, at Puttur on Saturday. 

According to the police, the deceased is Pradeep K (24), a resident of Karambadu in Survey village.

The accident occured when the 2-wheeler in which he was riding hit the heightguage pole which has been installed at the railway overbridge at Kaniyoor. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he breathed his last.

He was married to a girl from Pallatharu one and half months ago and   was working as a Chinese food cook in a restaurant in Kumbra.

Puttur police have registered a case.

LPG cylinders seized

The Ullal police arrested a person who was engaged in illegal storage of LPG cylinders, at Ullal.

The arrested is Mohammed Haneef. The police have seized 23 gas cylinders, two regulators and an Omni car.  Ullal police have registered a case.
