Mangalore, Jan 23: Kankanady market merchant association (KMMA) members handed over a memorandum to DC AB Ibrahim on Jan 23,Thursday at his office, urging to vacate street vendors.
The members in the memorandum stated that they are not against the street vendors running their business to earn their living, but urged them to run their business legally from the stalls managed by the Mangalore City Corporation by paying the rent.
It also stated that legal market merchants are facing huge loss in business due to the illegal street vendors, hence district administration must intervene the situation and vacate the street hawkers.
They also warned to conduct their business on street if the district administration fails to take action against these street vendors.
