Mangalore, Feb 4: The medical students of NSS wing of Nitte University organized street play to create awareness on oral cancer and cancer at IMA house, Milagres, Mangalore on February 4, Tuesday.
Participating as the chief guest, Dr S Ramanand Shetty, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Nitte University said that the institution is observing ‘World Cancer Day’ to create awareness among the general public.
He also said that people detected with cancer always think it to be an enemy of humanity. The world started observing ‘The World Cancer Day’ in the year 2008 and since then the institution is organizing cancer awareness programme every year.
Narayana, area officer of railways was also the chief guest.
Later the medical students of NSS wing conducted the free check up camp for the oral cancer patients.
Dr Murali Mohan NSS programme co-ordinator of Nitte University welcomed the guests and proposed vote of thanks.
Dr Mangesh Shenoy, Dr Ranjith Shetty and others were also present.
