Karkala; Feb 11: Hemavathi, aged 45, a resident of Padukudur, who was admitted in Mangalore Wenlock Hospital for treatment with severe burn injuries, has breathed her last as she did not respond to the treatment on Feb 10, Monday.
It was said that Hemavathi, who has been suffering from mental illness had gone to bathroom on Feb 02 and at the time of lighting the fire, her nighty, she was wearing caught fire accidentally, resulting severe burn injuries on her body. Immediately she was taken to wenlock hospital for treatment with intensive burn injuries. But she was declared dead as she did not respond to the treatment on Feb 10, Monday.
Chetan, son of the deceased has registered a case in this regard in Ajekar Police station.
