 Nagaraj, a BJP rebel candidate from KGF, was slapped by a woman when he came to file his nomination papers here on Wednesday.

Nagaraj, who was accompanied by his supporters, was taken aback by the sudden incident. The middle-aged  woman, who emerged from the crowd, asked Nagaraj why he was contesting the polls though the BJP had denied him the ticket, and slapped him across his face as he leaned forward to answer her.

Police arrested the woman but released her later on Nagaraj’s request
