Mangalore, Mar 7: Assayyid Hamid Fazal Koyamma Tangal Madani Koorat known as ‘Koora Tangal’ asuumes as new Qazi of Ullal at a ceremony held in the Ullal Dargah premises on March 6, Thursday.
Koora Tangal takes charge as Ullal Qazi after the death of his father and former Qazi Tajul Ulema Assayyid Abdurrahman Al Bukhari Ullal Tangal.
Speaking after inaugurating the ceremony, A P Ustad said that Koora Tangal was appointed as new Qazi of Ullal as per the wish of his father late Qazi Tajul Ulema Ullal Tangal. Every person of the community must forget their differences and show unity in accepting him as the new Qazi.
Sheikh Swabah Al Rifai Al Qadiri Baghdad and Kantapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar, secretary of All India Sunni Jamiyyatul Ulema, presented the ‘Peta’ to the new Qazi Koora Tangal, who has been appointed by president of Ullal Central Mosque and 28 ‘mohallas’ of Ullal.
Prof Abdulla Musliyar of Ullal Syed Madani Arabic College presided over the programme.
